Everything you ever wanted to know about DBS (Digital Broadcast
Satellite), and then some. These guys are friendly and helpful. You can't stump 'em.
Another outstanding DBS information site.
The place to go for Audio Video entertainment
equipment information. This is not just another home theater enthusiast web site. The users of this forum
consist of hobbyists (like myself) as well as industry professionals. If you're considering buying anything A/V
related, having trouble with your current equipment, or if you just want to get the most out of it, don't miss this site.
Another great A/V site. This leans more to home theater
equipment. The home page is well designed and constantly updated with bleeding-edge industry news. Don't forget
to check out the forums, though.
All the information you could ever want regarding past, current,
and upcoming DVD releases.
Their slogan, "Celebrating Film in the Digital Age", says
it all. Everything you ever wanted to know about digital cinema, from content to equipment to technology.
Want to know what you're missing when you view a "full-screen"
DVD? Want to know why you should buy the widescreen version of a DVD even if you don't have a widescreen television
set? Or do you just want to know "what them black bars are for, anyway"? This article sets the record
straight without a lot of techno-jargon.
Other Interesting Web Sites
Self proclaimed, "Earth's Biggest Movie Database",
but it's much more. Also look up television series, actors, biographies, etc.
This FOX television series flopped after a single season (2000-2001). The premise: a twenty-something (Derek
Barnes played by Ethan Embry) takes over his presumed deceased, twin brother's web site to explore the paranormal and possibly discover
the truth about his brother's death. The series was intelligent and funny, but most importantly, innovative.
This web site paralleled the television series. (If Derek uploads a diary entry or a video shot with his camcorder on
the episode, it shows up on the web site). I have no idea why the series wasn't more successful. Fortunately,
Haxan, has archived the entire site. Maybe someday, we'll get to own this unique television series on
DVD.
This is my sister's web site. She's an accomplished amateur
photographer, poet, and comedienne. With her talent, she should be rolling in the dough. But after you read about
her anti-adventures involving her son and adopted varmints (read 'pets'), you'll know how she lost control.
This Java site doesn't just mirror your computer's system clock like so many other "clock sites".
Please don't perpetuate those obnoxious, inbox cluttering,
email rumors. When someone sends you an email rumor or hoax, hit 'em back with the truth!
A really fun site, although I've yet to determine it's usefulness.
It's fun to see where, in relation to your location, a satellite like say the International Space Station is.
